Good Friday service

We gather on Good Friday to remember the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. 

We will mark the crucifixion of Jesus through a service of Tenebrae.  Tenebrae means shadows, and so our worship service will include an experience of some of the shadows that Christ endured. We will travel with Jesus and His disciples to the table of the Last Supper, and from there through Matthew’s gospel telling of the journey to the cross.

With each step, the lights will be dimmed.  As the candles are extinguished, we ponder the depths of Christ’s suffering and death on our behalf, and we stand in awe before the mystery that what seems so surely to be a defeat, is actually a coronation of the King.
